Window guard advice for housebuilders
Keylite’s new Window Guard product has completed testing by an accredited UKAS-approved test house and has exceeded the requirements set out in British Standard 6180:2011 Barriers In and About Buildings.
From 15 June 2023, housebuilders are required to install a window guard on any property with openings that are intended to be open for long periods, open wider than 100mm and less than 1100mm from floor level.

Features of Keylite’s window guards
- Available in four lengths; 950mm, 1400mm, 1600mm, and 1900mm.
- All lengths provided with 40mm dia chrome finish tubing.
- Supplied with chrome wall end caps, screws, plasterboard fixings, and fitting instructions.
- Designed, tested, and approved to carry 0.74kN/m horizontal uniformly distributed line load (BS 6180).
