Keylite window guard now UKAS approved

Last year, Keylite was first-to-market in launching its window guard to support housebuilders in light of updates to Building Regulations Part O ref: 3.8 Protection of Falling.

The window guard was responsively designed for vertical windows to support housebuilders urgently needing to meet the latest update to building regs, which came into effect in June 2023.

Now, Keylite’s window guard has completed testing by a UKAS accredited test house and has exceeded the requirements set out in British Standard 6180:2011 Barriers in and about buildings – Code of practice.

This means housebuilders can seek type approval from the NHBC with the support of Keylite’s test certification, along with the housebuilder’s design details.

Keylite’s first-to-market window guard solution is made of durable materials and is designed to ensure easy installation without any impact to build procedures, demonstrating Keylite’s customer-lead, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Available in a range of chrome lengths, the window guard has been structurally tested to carry the required uniformly distributed load, and can be fixed to internal window reveals for quick and easy installation.
